Hubert H. Humphrey Job Corps Center serves the entire
state of Minnesota and it is located on the former campus of
Bethel College in St. Paul. The center is named after a
former U.S. Senator and the 38th Vice President of the
United States, Hubert H. Humphrey. The center provides
education and career training to approximately 400 students
annually. Hubert H. Humphrey is a residential program where
young people can obtain their high school diploma or GED,
gain valuable life skills and receive nationally recognized
certification in one of seven career fields listed below:
- Certified Nursing Assistant/Home Health Aide
- Culinary Arts
- Facilities Maintenance (Home Builders Institute)
- Finance and Business
- Medical Office Support
- Painting and Wall Papering
- Transportation Communications Union
Hubert H. Humphrey has partnerships with local employers
to give students real-life work experience while training.
Advanced program students may enroll in the Transportation
Communications Union program, an advanced program at another
Job Corps center, qualify for a college scholarship or enter
the military.
On campus, students participate in a variety of
activities including arts and crafts and athletics such as
basketball, softball, and the running club. Leadership
opportunities are available through the center’s ambassador
and residence hall leadership programs.
